Wigtown 4 - 4 Stranraer Reserves
Wigtown took to the field with confidence tonight and that confidence paid off early on when Ian Miller scored a wonderful half volley from outside of the box, taken with the outside of his foot right over the Stranraer keeper into the far corner.
Stranraer battled back and grabbed a goal. However Wigtown took the lead again shortly after, another incredible effort from Miller, scoring from a free kick outside the corner of the 18 yard box which left the keeper standing still.
Stranraer however battled back once more and got into a rhythm, a cross which ended with Callum Hanlin unfortunately turning the ball into his own net.
Stranraer took the lead for the first time in the match, and doubled their lead in the middle of the second half. Wigtown to their credit did not give up, showed some fantastic fitness for this stage of preseason.
Wigtown grabbed a third when Stuart McClymont got the final kick of the ball in a scramble within Stranraer's six yard box. The chance once again created by Miller.
Wigtown scored what was to be the final goal of the match with another superb deadball effort from Miller. The ball right outside of the box, Miller powered it into the roof of the net in which the keeper had no chance.
Incredible game from the lads tonight against the reigning champions, our young lads have come on leaps and bounds since this time last year. A few additions to the side tonight which gave us a positive outlook on the match. Next game is on Saturday against Dailly AFC at Tram, kick off 2pm!
