WRUFC held their AGM 2021 on Tuesday 21st at Bognop Road.
A number of well respected committee personnel stepped down from their roles, including Chair Mark McKenzie who injected lots of enthusiasm across the club in his time at the helm. He has also, along with the help of many volunteers, steered the club through an extremely difficult 18 months with lockdowns and isolations proving very difficult obstacles to overcome. We’d also like to thank Lee Osborne and Phil Taylor for the work and time they have devoted to their committee roles over the years. We know they will always be very welcome as lifelong supporters.
On the evening, the club members voted in new volunteers to fill the voids left from people standing down. Most notably, Jamie Banks is our new Chair. From bringing his son Declan to play in the youth section 6 years ago, Jamie became a player himself as well as taking up roles coaching in the youth section, taking a role on the senior selection committee, taking on the role of Social Secretary and also being the Fixture Secretary at different times. His wife Michelle continues to be the Junior Chair making Willenhall even more of a family club.
There were also new additions to the main committee with Tom Bayley becoming the Club Secretary and Dave Taylor in charge of inside the clubhouse. We are hoping to confirm other new additions to the committees in the coming weeks and months.
It doesn’t stop there though, if you would like to offer your time and take up a role at Willenhall, please get in touch with a committee member. There can never be too many people helping to make the club grow.
We would like to thank those taking up senior roles within the club, those who are continuing with their roles and also to everybody else that makes the club tick on a daily as well as weekly basis. We are sure you will support them as the club grows to new heights.
