Leading point scorers, up to the arrival of Bob McCallum, were Rick Green and Chris Shingles. Rick played 307 games and his total was 1,284 points. Chris played 286 times and scored 1,082 points*. Had they not played in the same years, either would have had more points, because Chris was a left-footed kicker and Rick right. Sadly, there are no records for seasons 1968/69, 1974/75 and 76/77, so Rick and Chris would have even higher totals. * I have increased their try totals up to five points.

Bob arrived on the scene in 2002-3, thanks to Steve Swindells (our coach at the time), who poached him from Manchester. Since then, he has played 388 games and, but for a couple of serious injuries, he would have played well over 400 times. His present points total is 2,857, a total, I am certain that will never be beaten.

Ben Day’s try count at present is 118. I hope the birth of his first child will not interfere with his try scoring as he will anxious to increase the total. Next highest try scorer is Alex Taylor, with 64 in 192 games, with Sean Street coming up on the rails with 49 in 79 games, then Harry Patch, with 32 tries in 56 games. I regret to find that Matt Shufflebottom has played 61 games, without managing to cross the try line. Please help him this season.
