Final is up for grabs

Last night our 1XI successfully saw off Hale Barns CC in the T20 cup to book their place in the Semi finals in 2 weeks time.

Wilmslow batted first and shot off to a rapid start with Rob Herriot top scoring on 83. He was ably supported by both Elliot and Toby Rowe as well as Adam Dixon to end up with an impressive total of 150.

The reply was delayed due to rain resulting in a revised target of 115 from 15 overs. Crucially Hale Barns still had all 10 wickets to play with and came out all guns blazing. However, some fine bowling from Ross Kinnerley removed some early wickets and the hosts were soon at 30-3. Whilst they were meeting the required runrate, wickets continued to fall and some great bowling from Jags Narayan and the two Rowe brothers saw us home, bowling the opposition out in the 90's in the 15th over. The tight bowling was backed up by some good fielding and non more crucial than catching out the opposition overseas player in the deep (Jags).

The first move on to face Stockport Georgians in the Semi in an away fixture on Thu 21st July in what promises to be an exciting tie.

Two weeks ago Wilmslow beat Sandbach CC. Playing away from home they scored 138 at a brisk pace with the runs being spread around. Ross Kinnerley and Tim Conniff both scoring 26 each.

In reply the bowling was tight in the opening spells from Kinnerley (2-8) and Ward and then Jags Narayan came in to claim a quickfire 5 wickets for just 13 runs to secure victory. Wickets were also claimed by Imran Ahsraf, Alex Taylor and Ward. Sandbach were all out for 69 in the 17th over.
