All senior teams won and the youth too!

Good Day to you Ye Mighty Dons!

Well it had to happen and its awesome it happened sooner rather than later! Yes we had our first club clean sweep this weekend just passed - let's have a look at the senior scores!

The 1st XV traveled to CS Stags looking for revenge following last season's double defeats. It was a dish served hot and sunny - as they boys came back victorious 15-46 winners. You can read their match report here.

The 2nd XV traveled the long way to Cinderford and the result was a 24-24 draw. However the boys in claret and blue scored four tries to the hosts three so came away with a points victory! Great work chaps!

On Sunday the Womens' XV traveled to Old Elthamians and also cam back victorious with a 10-14 win in a hard fought slug-fest by all accounts. This takes the womens' XV to 5th in their table. Keep your eyes peeled on social media for when their match report is up!

Also on Sunday the youth teams faced some team called Epsom & Sutton (...?) amongst other oppositions, all of whom were resoundingly beaten providing an excellent platform for the club's future.

A true claret and blue clean sweep. Well done all!

Right this weekend and the stakes are going to be higher as we have more teams playing and there is the small matter of a world cup.

Now many of you have asked about this - the club will be recording all games and showing them over the weekend. We are moving morning games on Sunday to ensure that we maximise viewing space. If you are not sure if the club house will be open - don't hesitate to call the club and ask Ruth if she is about.

This weekend sees the 1st XV, 2nd XV and Strollers at home vs Sevenoaks, Ampthill and Old Blues respectively. The Mavericks of the 3rd XV are away to Old Haileybarians. The Womens' XV are taking a week off.

Socials:
Don't forget this weekend is the Ladies Day Brunch. £20 for brunch and all you can possibly consume prosecco from 1pm until 1st XV kick off.

In addition:
Presidents Lunch - October 26th. All Welcome but on a first come first served basis and this will sell out fast. £30 per head.
New Years Eve Party - New Years Eve. Details to follow.
Wooden Spoon Dinner - 28th February 2020

Finally - I will be away for a few weeks. Apparently having got married last year - Mrs Badger expects a honeymoon to boot (selfish) - so if I want to get back in the Sett I had better take her away. In the meantime the wonderful witticisms of our glorious Chairman Woods and Kim Jong Jim will have to keep you going. I shall correct their grammatical and spelling mistakes from afar - they were only teachers after all!
[note from Webmaster - various Badger blunders corrected in this message, glass houses...]

See you soon and stay Claret and Blue!

Big Love

Badger
