Well what a weekend that was - apart from the Japan result..... the Irish result wasn't all that great either.... although it made the Kiwis smile..... but it was STILL an EPIC weekend!
Yes its was all smiles at Beverley Meads this weekend as all the teams in action delivered some fab results. Let's go through them.
The 1st XV played Rochford 100 for the first time in our history. They arrived in numbers on the back of 54 victories on the trot. This was always going to be a treat and, as games go, this was real heart in your mouth stuff. Wimbledon held their nerve to win 31-29 in a classic. The match report will be online shortly - so keep your eyes peeled on the website.
The 2nd XV faced Esher's 2nd XV as well on Saturday. This was another classic as well - with the Dons coming in 40-17 victors.
The Strollers also ran out on Saturday against Bec Old Boys. A further 36-10 victory completed Wimbledon's weekend clean sweep and continuing the Strollers unbeaten run this year.
A fab set of results I think you will all agree.
This weekend we have three teams at home on Saturday so do come along and support as well as on the side we have the Presidents lunch - so watch out for senior citizens over-loaded on port, chatting about the good old days, how everyone in the modern game is bigger and why rucking should never have been outlawed.
In addition we have the England vs New Zealand World Cup Semi-final match on at the clubhouse in the morning so a packed schedule I think you will agree.. With all that - it will be veeeeeery busy this weekend - so PLEASE - if you can - leave your cars behind.
Well done to everyone who pulled on the colours this weekend. Its a real treat to write up such results.
Have a great week all and any further messages just let me know.
