Soggy Saturday

Good Day to you Ye Mighty Dons!

... and quite frankly its a dark and dismal one here at Badger Towers. The first sleet of the year is definitely the hallmark that Big Coat season is well and truly upon us. However - to warm the cockles - let's go through last weekend's results!

In a quite frankly drenched Dorking, the chipper chaps in claret and blue... and for some reason white (do we have a beef with the launderette that no-one has told me about...?!!!) went to town in a cracking fixture where both teams really went to play expansive rugby in atrocious conditions. At half time Dorking went in 13-12 up but our chaps prevailed and came in soggy but victorious 16-27 winners.
I would direct you to the match report but, as some of you may have spotted, the website is down. I understand the boffins are giving it the old college try top sort it out.

The 2nd XV hosted Richmond Saxons and kept the home fires burning with a 19-10 win!

The 3rd XV meanwhile traveled to Esher to play their thirds and unfortunately, even though it was a close affair, came home 35-17 the worse off.

Finally the Strollers hosted Law Society in a double-header as far as points were concerned. It was a tough ask for the boys as they had a few numbers away and a number of injuries on the pitch made it even harder. Even with dwindling numbers they put up a hell of a fight but it was not to be and they came in second with a 7-15 points difference.

So a mixed bag of results there but a great Dons spirit running through the club as ever.

Thank you to everyone who has donated an unwanted coat or jacket to the club for the charitable Wrap Up London cause. We are collecting again this weekend - so if you have any - please please please do give them to Ruth behind the bar. We had a great intake last week - more of the same you wonderful bunch you!

In that same wonderful happy vein we have lunch at the club this Saturday as the 1st XV are at home against Brighton - so if you want in - do drop myself or Chairman Wow a message. £15 a head for some cracking grub courtesy of fab chef Guy! Let me know by close of play Thursday please. It's always good to have a packed house - and at those prices - you really can't go wrong.

NYE - tickets are on sale - and there are still some left. If you want them - get them now. If you have questions - ask. Simples.

City Lunch. You know the details by now. A few tickets left. Don't be left out.

Right I'm off to waterproof the sett and dry off my spare fur. As usual any announcements or updates you want to get into me - please do so here.

Big Love as ever
