A try fest at Barham Road on a sunny Sunday afternoon

Wimbledon Ladies took to the pitch on a crisp November afternoon with pride, joy and passion in their hearts. After a long run of matches, we were a few players down form injury but we welcomed new and old players a like for this fixture. Guernsey tested us in the scrums but our open play dominated and only a few silly penalties led to Guernsey's scores. The varied positions of Wimbledon's scorers show just how much of a team effort this performance was: centre Emily got 4, winger Laura got 3; centre, and captain, Gutti got 1 and followed up with 4 conversions; and one each for second row Ange, flanker Jen, no.8 Laura and fullback Lu. Guernsey were a great team to host and we're looking forward to the return fixture in February. Congratulations to Jess and Georgia who played their first games for Wimbledon. May they be the first of many. We've got a couple of weekend off now but we will continue to put in the hard work at training and push forwards to our fixture at Newbury on 3rd December.
