Spring had sprung at Burrows Hill

Spring was in the air at Burrows Hill and the sun was shining to make a great day for rugby. Tarleton snatched the win at their ground by one point and Park were up for the fight to amend the loss earlier in the season. Tarleton had a fit strong powerful team and it was going to be a tough game to the end of the whistle to be in with a shout of the winning points.
The game started at a fast past for the first 10 minutes but Park began to play attractive rugby and after 14 minutes a sprint by Jack Williams darting past a couple of players to pass out to winger Nick Clawson to sprint over the line. Cameron Flanagan converted the points for Park to go 7 points ahead.
The excitement was short lived with Tarleton scoring within 2 minutes after some sloppy tackling by Park. The conversion was missed.
The game was evenly matched and Park pushed further ahead with a penalty kick given for a high tackle converted by Cameron Flanagan.
Joe Robbins came on to replace prop Dan Snowden after a back injury.
Tarleton came straight back at Park and with some poor tackling on the winger he sprinted down the line passed inside and Tarleton scored their second try and converted the kick to go ahead by 2 points.
Park focused raised the game and within 5 minutes Dan Williams was on the score sheet just before half time, the conversion was missed but Park finished the first half 3 points ahead at 15 to 12.
Nick Clawson who had an impressive game returning to first team duty was substituted after injuring his ankle to be replaced by Lee Allmark.
The second half started intense for both sides with Park putting the pressure on Tarleton and within 5 minutes were back on the score board with a penalty kick converted by Cameron Flanagan after a Tarleton player was illegally handling in the maul and was given a yellow card for his troubles. Within minutes a further penalty was awarded to Park for not releasing the ball and Cameron Flanagan with his golden boot converted the points.
This game was going to go the wire and Tarleton fought back and scored a well-deserved third try and conversion to leave the home crowd in a tense position for the last 5 minutes of play.
Park raised the game and continued to attack Tarleton and the effort paid off with a penalty for handling in the maul. Cameron Flanagan kicked the points for a relieved coaching team and won the day 24 to 19.
Some exceptional play again by prop forward Shaun Underdown who had some blistering runs and some big hits again from young centre Sam Houghton. Scrumhalf Archie Sanchez playing above his years and Joe Robbins having a great game when he came on for Dan Snowden.
