Redland were dominant in their attempts and had several attacks at goal. Winscombe Defence of Vicki Pagett, Julie O'Sullivan, Caroline Marsh, Michelle Isgar, Caitlin Flood and Claudia Routhorn-James worked tirelessly to prevent any goals from being scored. Unfortunately a short corner was awarded to Redland which converted into a goal.
With a new sense of vigour Redland took advantage and scored a second goal, also from a short corner. Despite the score Winscombe's spirits were not dampened and the team worked harder than before to equalise. Midfield of Kelly Clark, Leanne Gardner and Sarah Holland continued to create opportunities for Winscombe forwards Gabby Richardson, Hannah Taylor and Hannah Hussey, however Redland defence were up to the task and defended their goal well.
Gabby Richardson seized on an opportunity in the middle of the pitch and immediately ran with the ball towards the D. Richardson was too quick for Redland Defence and scored Winscombe's first goal shortly before half time.
The second half saw Winscombe set out with renewed determination. They attacked strongly with the midfield working together to create space. In the D Hannah Taylor took advantage of a well-worked move to take a quick shot at goal to net Winscombe's second goal – bringing the match level at 2-2.
Winscombe continued to push hard to find a winner, but it was Redland who snatched a goal to take all 3 points right at the end of the match.
