Winscombe walked onto the pitch with clear minds and open hearts ready to beat their opponents and all but secure their position in Sedgemoor I next season.

First minutes involved attacks from both teams and a battle to take control which was taken by ECVH with the first goal going their way. Winscombe did not let their heads fall and came straight back with their own from a good flick at goal by Georgie Collett which was initially saved by keeper but the rebound tucked away by Georgie. Winscombe kept the pressure in the opponents half from good work by Jasmine Honour, Tia Rendall, Becky Matthews, Vonnie Rendall and were rewarded with a cracking strike just inside the D by Cara Ellis with the ball flying through the players and hitting the back board 2-1 at half time.

Winscombe started the 2nd half as they ended with the pressure kept on the opponents goal, good work in midfield by Katie McKay and Dulce Glossop moved the ball up the left and into Becky Matthews who’s initial strike hit the back post and came out to Player of the match Cara Ellis to take a first time strike past the keeper for her 2nd goal. Winscombe 4th goal came from good work in midfield by Georgie Collet playing a lovely ball into the D for Becky Matthews to come in with a diving strike past the keeper.

Good defensive by Jodie Honour, Amelia bourbon, Julie O’Sullivan, Michelle Clarke -McCulloch and keeper Vicky Whittaker had kept the opponents attacks to the minimum but lapse in concentrating and decisions not going their way allowed ECVH back into the game with 2 goals but Winscombe held firm for a well deserved 4-3 win.
