Monday Night Football Donates £170 to Wirksworth Colts

Wirksworth Colts received another wonderful pre-season boost recently with the presentation of a £170 cheque from Wirksworth's 'Monday Night Football' organisers Bernardo Vega and Nigel Taylor. Bernardo commented "Our football group had recently disbanded so we agreed that it would be good if we could play our part in encouraging the next generation of young footballers. Wirksworth Colts was the obvious choice.' Nigel Taylor added 'So many local footballers in and around Wirksworth started playing as youngsters for Colts. We hope this money can help Colts build on their success in bringing so many boys and girls to the sport.' Nigel and Bernardo can be seen with Garry McCabe, manager of next seasons Wirksworth Colts under 7s. 'It is wonderful to know that the club has this sort of support in the community. I would just like to say a big thank you to Bernardo and Nigel and all those who in any way made this donation possible. It is very much appreciated.' added Garry.
