Cottenham Development Festival

In our penultimate fixture of the season Wisbech U7's took 2 teams to the Cottenham Development Tournament played on the AstroTurf surface..
The weather was dry and the sun was out, although it was very windy which meant ball handling was going to be more important than usual.

Our unbeaten run, which has lasted all season, was again going to be tested thoroughly.

The tournament was run as 2 pools of four teams in a round robin format with the winner of each pool going through to contest the final.

Game 3: Wisbech 6 - 5 St Ives

Wisbech Blues - Thomas Wicks, Theo Tooke, Issac Ibbott, Jenson Blackwell, Freddie Cazot, Danny Holt and Seb Bell

Game 1: Wisbech 13 - 11 St Neots
Game 2: Wisbech 7 - 6 Cottenham Renegades
Game 3: Wisbech 7 - 6 Haverhill

With both Wisbech teams winning all their games it meant a head to head clash in the final, one of them had to lose this time...?

Cup Final : Wisbech Reds 11 - 11 Wisbech Blues 11

An honourable draw, a fitting end as both teams played the game to a high standard with some excellent running and passing and showed great sportsmanship throughout.

The trophy was shared between both our u7 teams, congratulations, a fantastic effort from all the players.
