although defeated this was a better performance than of late by the witham team as garry kimble changed his team and had a cuple of new faces, both teams had chances during the early part of the game but ex witham keeper danny sambridge made saves from lewis godbold and davidson tejaive whilst at the other end nick oakley on his debut for witham made saves from maldons mitch hunter and hassan nalbant, however it was maldon that took the lead in the 41st minute and what a goal it was ,femi akinwande hit an unstoppable shot past oakley from the middle of the half. soon after the break sambridge made a good save from coe and the rebound went to LEWIS GODBOLD to shoot into the net.but the visitors soon went back in the lead when darren mcqueen was left unmarked at the back and shot just inside the post, and they went further ahead when mcqeen scored from close range, as oakley was unable to stop the ball crossing the line. witham did well in the closing stages of the game , as dany emmanuel shot just wide and were rewarded for their effort when SCOTT KEMP fired in from the edge of the area, making the last few minutes action packed
