Witham came out blocks quickly and had early chances through scott Kemp and
George Cocklin . The opening goal of the came against the run of play when a
cross by barkingsides Jonathan nzengo was flicked in by Tyrone scarlet . Witham
equalised ten minutes later when a corner by George Cocklin was headed in by
John Watson . This sparked Witham into life and from another corner John Watson
saw his shot just go wide . Witham took the lead on 37 minutes when a free kick
on the halfway line from Tom Cocklin was superbly brought down by Scott Kemp who
coolly finished at the near post . Barkingside had a late free kick that was
just scrambled away .
Witham started the second half better and Shamido Pedulu
hit the side netting with a fierce shot . On 62 minutes a mix up in the Witham
defence saw Tyrone Scarlett get his and Barkingside second goal of the game .
Almost imeditatly Witham responded and a strong run by Shamido Pedulu saw him
slot the ball to Scott Kemp who beat the keeper to give Witham the lead . Witham
pressed and only a great tackle from barkingsides Andy nikolaou prevented Witham
extending there lead . With time running out barkingsides Tyrone Scarlett beat
the Witham defence and with the goal at his mercy put the ball agonisingly past
the post . Witham held firm and got the victory . Barkingside worked hard. All
afternoon and finished the stronger side .
