all square in derby

this was not one of withams better performances as they started well , scored early and dominated the early stages of the game ,but as the game went on gradually deteriated and by the end of the match some what fortunate to get a draw. witham almost scored in the opening minute when the ball bounched awkwardly for jason willis the maldon keeper, but did take the lead after just seven minutes when a shot from skipper lewis godbold hit the underside of the bar and bounched over the line , yet maldon fought back and sam baxter the witham keeper made saves from brad hunter and joe gardner.
there were many stoppages for minor infringments and just before half time witham had a good spell but willis made saves from kris newby and tom wraight .
after the break the homeside had the better of the exchanges and soon drew level when brad hunter had ample time to turn and shot past baxter and only good saves from baxter preventing any further goals and the fact maldon squandered some real good chances.little was seen of the witham attack, just a few breakaways that broke down as they approached goal.the flood lights broke down with a minute to go ,pity for witham it was not earlier.
