not the best of games but those three points are the main thing as both teams enjoyed good spells with both defences on top ,with both keepers making crucial saves.witham started well and looked good with anthony anstead a constance pain for the cheshunt defence.witham took the lead after just 13 minutes when the visting keeper will viner failed to hold on to a long free kick near the ground , and lee townrow up from the defence poked the loose ball over the line, for a fine oppourtunist goal.witham keeper martyn guest then saved a fierce shot from omer riza. witham doubled there lead when skipper lewis godbold headed in -more than powerfully- from a free kick.cheshunt hit the post following a short corner that caused pannick in the witham defence as they scrambled the ball away.
after the break in the 53rd minute witham went further ahead when kris newby was tripped in the box by will viner - for which he received a yellow card- and as per normal hot shot james stevens made no mistake from the resulting penalty kick. the vistors fought back and for a while put the home defence under pressure and pulled a goal back in the 70th minute when will homes shot low past guest. witham made raids on the cheshunt goal but their shots were way off target
