from start to finish the vistors attacked the home goal but the witham defence played well ,but their task was made worse when center half luke olly received a straight red card for a wreckless tackle on george woudwars who was unfortunately stretched off with a badly cut leg. martyn guest the home keeper made a good double save as the boro continued to attack .witham recovered from the sending off and came more into the game with danny emmanuel and tom wraight making good runs down the wings but their crosses were far to strong for the awaiting strikers. just before half time romford were awarded a penalty but paul clayers penalty kick was saved by guest with his legs to keep witham in the game - this was his second penalty save in as many games.
as the game progressed after the break the ten men of witham were putting up a good fight and begining to have the better of the exchanges and by the end were unlucky not to have won as bradley stopher headed just over ,and romfords joe oats clearing a shot off the line , and right at the end a fierce goal bound shot from james stevens was charged down .
