this was the second good result for witham this week, having beaten east thurrock on tuesday night.their was a quiet opening to the game with defenders on top, with very few chances, elliott romain tested witham keeper martyn guest whilst at the other end bradley stopher headed a corner wide. witham took the lead in the 28th minute when kurk smith won the ball in the penalty area , passed it to DANNY EMMANUEL who flicked it past ricky banks the lewes keeper and just inside the post to send the home fans wild. witham were then awarded a penalty in the 38th minute when kurk smith was hauled down in the box and up stepped JAMES STEVENS who smashed the ball into the back of the net.on the stroke of half time lewes were awarded a penalty from which jack dixon pulled one back

after the break TOM WRAIGHT put the result beyond doubt with two great goals ,when the always alert young player took advantage of a bad back pass , and with banks out of his goal , shot into an empty net, he was then put clear down the left and scored a -picture goal - with a fierce low shot on the day he signed a two year deal with the club. ryan blackman (witham ) received a second yellow card thus a red. both keepers made remarkable saves guest from terry dodd and banks from emmanuel
the ten men of witham defended well but lewes were awarded a penalty in time added on , with luke blewden sending guest the wrong way.
