with three new players in the squad and the welcome return of craig emery and shamido pedulu the witham team looked strong, and were full of confidence , but were beaten by a faster,skillful side , that seemed to want it more, so for the second week in succession were knocked out of a major cup competition. hern bay took the lead in the 24th minute when james turner took advantage of a misunderstanding in the witham defence to score with a low shot. at times witham played well with ryan charles and daniel emmanuel having chances but there shots lacked power and were easily saved by jack delo the visiting keeper, substitute elliot cutts put the away side further ahead after 61 mins ,but soon afterwards skipper LEWIS GODBOLD pulled one back for witham ,as the goals began to flow,liam quinn scored a third for the visitors , but again witham pulled one back with LEWIS GODBOLD the scorer with a fine shot.witham now thought they had a fighting chance for a draw but with all the players in attack when they were awarded a free kick the ball was cleared to danny williams to break away and score to put the result beyond doubt
