fa cup success for witham

this was withams first win of the season that was spoilt by a strong cross wind and the many stoppages and minor injuries ,plus the visiting keeper sam tanner had to leave the game with a hand injury,his place taken by lucas joseph. town made a couple of changes from the bury game with snellgrove ,ahearn and kemp replacing downs,green and adeniji ,the visitors settled down first putting the home defence under early pressure ,yet it was witham who scored first when after sixteen minutes NATHAN KORENTENG was put through and shot past tanner the advancing keeper.SCOTT KEMP scored the second in the 27th minute with a low shot ,witham then hit the post and did everything but score for the remainder of the first half.
witham went further ahead with only three minutes of the second half starting when SCOTT KEMP made a good run down the left and shot past keeper joseph, the visitors tried hard to get back into the game but the the home side were to give nothing away and the home defence held firm, whilst at the other end withams shooting was erratic with wild shooting when they did create chances.
