A short end of year message.

We are sure you will all agree that 2020 has been a strange and tough year.

As we approach the year end, we wanted to thank all of our players, parents, coaches and volunteers for not only their hard work but for their patience during the ‘grassroots football lockdown’.

Not only did our teams miss a number of training sessions and matches, some also missed out on the opportunity of playing in County Cup and League Cup finals. However, we believe that as a club we have acted correctly, supported the restrictions and put everyone’s safety first.

In June we were unable to hold our annual end of season day where we get all our teams together, present trophies and have a family fun day. Let’s hope we can get this back in the diary for June 2021!

As August & September approached, we got our risk assessments and COVID-19 mitigation plans in place and it was great to see our teams training and playing matches again. Then a short lockdown in November and now another lockdown as we go into the New Year.

We would like to thank 5 Ways Soccer for their continued sponsorship and support during 2020 in particular Ben Lewis who is our Head of Football / Head Coach. We are extremely grateful for the time Ben provides the club.

In addition, we welcomed Matt Evans & Brighton Galaxy Girls Football Academy to the Withdean family in 2020 which saw the creation of 2 new Withdean Youth Galaxy girl’s teams (making a total of 5 girls teams this season).

We are proud of our strong bond with 5 Ways Soccer and Brighton Galaxy and how that benefits both the boys & girls grassroots football community in Sussex.

So, whether you are a player, parent, supporter or volunteer for the club, please enjoy the festive break and wishing you all a healthy 2021.

See you as soon as we can in 2021!

Jason (Chair) & Danielle (Vice-chair)
