The last thing we want at present is more negative news but after speaking with the Withdean Youth Management Committee, we have decided with a heavy heart to cancel this years end of season day which was due to take place on 7th June.
This was a tough decision as it is the one day of the season where we bring the whole club together and celebrate. However, a lot of organising goes into making it a great day but with the restrictions and closure of businesses at the moment, we are going to find it very hard to put everything in place for June even if the restrictions are lifted in a few weeks!
We plan to still announce and present the club person and team of the year awards despite the season being cut short due to COVID-19.
With todays announcement from the FA about the conclusion of the grassroots season, we know that there are some players who will finish with Withdean Youth (mainly our U16 girls and some of our older boys) and we are considering how we best present them with their memento. We assure you that we will say goodbye to those affected in an appropriate way once the current situation improves.
As far as registration and sign on for next season is concerned, we will work through this over the next couple of months and will stay in touch with you all. Our planning is on ice at the moment but as soon as lockdown / restrictions are lifted, we will meet and put a plan of action together.
So, a massive thank you from all the WYFC committee for all the help and support that our coaches, managers, and volunteers have provided this season, we cannot run this club with out you! A shout out to all our players and supporters!
We will stay in touch on here and via our social media pages regularly.
