Before Saturday's game against Plymstock Albion Oaks (12th January), The Withycombe Committee decided to put on a lunch to thank the volunteers at the club for their many hours of unpaid help and support throughout the season.
Without this help and support, the club wouldn't be able to function in the way it does, and it was decided that the pre-match lunch was a good way to show the club's appreciation.
Before the lunch, a certificate was awarded to each of the volunteers as an additional token of thanks.
In a speech given before the awarding of the certificates, Withycombe Director of Rugby, Rick Libbey said: "The purpose of the our club is to provide a safe and secure environment for players of all ages, abilities and genders to enjoy the game of rugby. To achieve this we need the ongoing commitment of our wonderful volunteers. They do a brilliant job and we are truly thankful."
We are always looking for more people to help at the club. This help can come in many different ways and forms, all of which as helpful as the next! Anyone looking to help at the club can get in contact with Rick Libbey by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Once again, a massive Thank You from us all at Withycombe RFC for all those that set aside their valuable time to help the club.
