Withycombe started the game under pressure, successfully containing a big Crediton team for the first quarter of the match. Finally after a period of attack in the Withy half, Crediton broke through when a centre saw a gap and touched down between the posts to score a converted try.
The next phase of the game saw the Withies in control from the restart as attacking runs from Jake Lewis, Vinnie Neath Rogers and Josh Arbury tested the defence until Crediton conceded a penalty at the breakdown. The decision was made to kick, and Jason Farrant gave Withies their first 3 points.
As the first half was drawing to a close Crediton managed to keep Withycombe within their half and were awarded a scrum for not releasing. Credtion broke from the scrum and scored again to end the half 14-3.
As the second half started Credition scored again from a 5 metre scrum which was answered quickly with a try back from Withies. As Withies countered Crediton were pushed back as the forwards powered in to the Crediton 22. A pass to Harry Neath Rogers was rewarded as he drove for the line to score and was duly converted by Farrant.
The next try line action came from Crediton who after crossing the line in a foiled attempt to touch down were brought back for another 5 metre scrum which resulted in a try for the away team. This time the try wasn't converted and the score was 31-10.
Withies were not done yet, and after some great work the ball was moved forward as Farrant and Arbury went on the charge. A kick over the defensive line was chased by Aaron Lee who managed to collect the ball and touch down for the best try of the game. The game ended 31-15.
