Withy Colts come out on top in Local Derby

Withies maintained their 100% win record in the merit table this weekend after hosting Exmouth at Bicton.
The first half was a fairly well matched half, with both sets of players managing to get some game time and work through the phases. First half tries from Tom Croal and Harry Langabeer, and one from Exmouth saw the sides swap ends with Withy holding a narrow 12-7 lead.
However, as the second half got underway, Withies made good use of their bench, with fresher legs on the field to begin to raise the pressure levels and slowly breaking apart the Cockles’ defensive lines.
Tries in the second half from Joe Graham, Finn Musgrove, Ben Wilkinson, Jason Farrant & Arron Lee, along with the boots of Will Cooper and Jason Farrant kicking 6 out of a possible 7 conversions meant the Withy boys came away with a hard earned 47-7 victory.

Next weekend, the boys travel to Bonfire Field to play Topsham in what should be another top quality game of Merit Table rugby. Kick off is at 2:30pm
