This weekend, we’re continuing in the hunt for some silverware as we welcome league champions Tavistock to Raleigh Park in our second match in the Devon Junior Cup.

Last weekend, the boys came away with a hard-fought 19-17 win at home against South Molton. Tries in the first half from Luke Pattison, Joe Blyth & Dave Richards were complimented with a brace of conversions from Harry Symons to give the boys a 19-0 lead at the break, but our visitors made the most of the slope and clawed back 17 points, leading to a huge defensive effort from the Withy boys to come away with the win.

In their last cup match a fortnight ago, Tavistock were 48-14 winners against North Tawton at Sandy Park.

It looks as if our final group game against Exeter Saracens next week will not go ahead due to fixture clashes, a final decision and points ruling is yet to be made so we shall wait and see. Based on this, the boys will need to make sure that they make a good impression this week and come away with at least a point to qualify for the semi finals in two weeks.

During the main season it was one win apiece between us and Tavistock, with the Withies winning 22-12 at Raleigh Park, being only one of two sides to beat the Moorlanders. Unfortunately the away leg saw a much changed side suffer a heavy 76-10 defeat at Sandy Park.
Ready to right the wrongs of that damp January afternoon, the Withy boys go into our cup clash in a stronger position and will be keen on earning a double win at Raleigh Park!

The game kicks off at 2:30pm and we want to see as many people down to pack the park and support the boys in what may be our final home game of the season - depending on the outcome of next weekend!
