This Saturday sees us welcome Plymouth Argaum to Raleigh Park in our last competitive game of 2023.
It’s been a mixed season so far, winning six and losing five of our matches in the first round of games, putting us into fourth place as we get the second half of fixtures underway.
Last weekend, a waterlogged pitch at the King George V Playing Fields meant our game against OPMs was postponed until the 24th February, giving the boys a two week break before this week’s home encounter.
Our visitors also suffered the same fate last weekend with their home game against South Molton also being called off, leaving Argaum in tenth in the league standings at this halfway point.
When we last met Plymouth Argaum at Roborough back in September, a strong performance from Withy lead to a 07-29 victory. A penalty try and two tries apiece from Liam Daniels and Joe Blyth secured full five points on the road.
Withy will need to recreate this performance and rediscover some of that flair if they are to overcome what will likely be a strong travelling Argaum side and keep their place in fourth as we go into the festive break.
The game kicks off at 2:30pm at Raleigh Park. We’d love to see as many of you there as possible to cheer on the boys as we look to finish off 2023 on a high!
