Tomorrow afternoon we take to the road and head for Mid Devon to Blagdon to play Crediton IIs.
It’s been a positive start to the year for the Withies, with two important wins, starting with an 07-39 away win at Topsham and then a 29-10 victory last weekend against Tavistock at Raleigh Park. These two results seat Withy in seventh in the league standings after their twelve matches.
Sitting in ninth is our hosts this weekend, Crediton. Their most recent outing saw them succumb to a 24-43 defeat at home to Topsham II, who would’ve likely had a point to prove after the previous week.
When we last met with Crediton back in October, it was a true ‘game of two halves’ with Withy taking a commanding 36-0 lead at the break, but a second half comeback down the slope from the visitors saw the final score at 36-31.
Following the close defeat at Raleigh Park, Crediton will be keen to make amends for this and we’re expecting to face a strong, experienced lineup, which will provide a great challenge for our boys, a chance to showcase their abilities and will show how far they’ve come since the Christmas break.
Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 2:30pm at Blagdon in Crediton. Given the weeks rain, we’re expecting there to be a pitch inspection during the morning, so keep an eye out on our social media for updates!
