Withycombe delivered an impressive attacking performance at Raleigh Park, scoring eleven tries in a 71–20 victory over Dartmouth in their penultimate game of the 2025/26 season.
The hosts made a flying start, taking the lead inside two minutes as Cody Kane broke from deep to score under the posts, with Tom Parker adding the conversion. Dartmouth replied with a penalty to reduce the deficit, but Withycombe quickly regained control. Nick Heasman crossed for the second try after sustained pressure, finishing well down the left.
Withycombe continued to dominate territory, and after being held up over the line, they made the next opportunity count as Dan May picked from the base of a five-metre scrum to score, extending the lead to 17–3 after twenty minutes.
Dartmouth responded with a period of pressure and eventually found a way through, taking a quick penalty to score. However, Withycombe hit back immediately with a decisive spell that effectively put the game out of reach. Kane grabbed his second of the afternoon, before Jacob Cornish’s powerful break through midfield set up Kenan Palmer to cross. Heasman then completed his brace to cap a three-try burst in quick succession.
The visitors had the final say of the half with a try under the posts, leaving Withycombe leading 36–13 at the break.
The second half began in more even fashion, with Dartmouth adding a converted try ten minutes in. That proved to be their final score, as Withycombe gradually reasserted control.
Cooper Love extended the lead with a well-taken try from a lineout move, using his pace to break clear. He added a second soon after, finishing off a well-timed break from Dan May, with Parker’s conversion pushing the score beyond fifty.
Parker, already reliable from the tee, then added a try of his own under the posts to further increase the advantage. With Dartmouth beginning to tire, Withycombe maintained their momentum into the closing stages.
Tom Litton crossed for his first Withycombe try after a strong break and unselfish assist from Joel Ranft, before the final score came with the last play of the game. A mis-kicked Dartmouth penalty was gathered just outside their own 22, and quick hands found Dan May, who finished for his second try of the afternoon. Parker’s conversion brought the game to a close at 71–20.
Withycombe now look ahead to their final game of the season next Saturday, when they host Exeter Saracens at Raleigh Park.
