Round 26, the final round of the Tribute Cornwall/Devon 2021/22 season and in this final fixture we look forward to welcoming Bude to Raleigh Park.
A fortnight ago, we hosted table-toppers Pirates Amateurs in a tough, physical encounter which finished 12-31. Tries on the day for Withy came from George Doughty and Mike Richards in a game where the boys battled throughout and put on a good performance against the potential league champions.
Our visitors currently sit fifth in the league after their last game which saw them win 31-12 at home to Veor.
When we travelled to Bencoolen Meadow in the season opener back in September, it was a close one; with the lead changing hands several times in the game. Scores from Joe Blyth and two from Sam Warren looked to be enough to win but Bude struck back on 70min to retake the lead for the final time, winning the game by a single point at 20-19.
It’s no secret that injury has been a huge factor in Withy’s season but as we go into the final game we are fortunate to be able to put together a strong side with the return of a few players to the squad for one final run out at Raleigh Park this season. It’s definitely a game not to be missed so let’s pack the park and give your support and help create an amazing atmosphere to finish the season off on a high!
The bar will be open from midday with the match kicking off at 2:30pm so we’ll see you there!
For those that can’t join us; updates, as ever will be available online at https://bit.ly/wit-bude
This is just the start of a big weekend of rugby with Sunday seeing our Under 16s in the final of the Fisherman’s Cup in Brixham (3pm) and also we look forward to welcoming Gloucestershire based side Minchinhampton to Raleigh Park Sunday afternoon for a friendly (1pm).
