Kidlington 1 Witney Town 4

Witney were back in midweek Hellenic Premier Division action on Tuesday as they visited local rivals Kidlington and ran out comfortable winners 4-1.

Mark Janes had an early chance in the first minute after a short corner but saw his shot blocked but Witney were not to be denied and on 13 minutes Conor McDonagh slammed home his 22nd of the season from James Dobson's corner. Ryan Curtin broke through on 19 minutes but Alan Foster got down well to push his shot wide. But the hosts levelled the scores through Geary on 26 minutes with a close in finish from a free kick. Witney responded well and continued to dominate possesion with Yashwa Romeo going close before the break but stubbing his shot just wide.

Adam Morris saw an early thunderbolt just fly wide before McDonagh was denied well by keeper Dixon but the Blanketmen regained the lead when an audacious effort from the touchline by James Dobson flew into the top corner. On the hour Dobson had another shot well saved after a strong run. On 62 minutes Witney opened up a two goal lead with a fine team goal including 5 first time passes before Mark Janes smashed it home for his 11th of the season. Janes almost chipped the keeper for a second with 20 mins to go but just floated it over the top before he then had a goal disallowed on 73 minutes for offside from a tap in. Nick Thorne assured the win with another trademark dribble and finish with 13 minutes left.

A solid defensive and attacking display led well by the spine of the team Foster, Allaway, McIntosh and Janes.
