Rob has been a member of the Club since moving to the area in 1980. He played in the First XI until the age of 39 and was then Captain of the successful Wessex Masters team when the league formed in 1991. He started his hockey career in Dorset where he represented the county before moving to Bristol where he also played First XI hockey, including three seasons as Captain.

Rob played his last game of hockey in 2009, retiring after what he describes as “an incident on the pitch” which resulted in three members of the club giving him CPR. He and his family are eternally grateful for their intervention!

After a successful career in financial services, Rob retired as Director of Operations for Europe and the Middle East for the RBS Group. Since his retirement he has been a Non-Executive Director of Frimley Health Foundation Trust and is currently Deputy Chairman and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee.

Rob is a keen and average golfer (his words) and was Centenary Captain of West Hill Golf Club.

His daughter Claire, son Andy and son-in-law Mike all play at a high level in the Club and two of his grandchildren are also now very active members, giving Rob an insight into every section of the Club.
