To many cards to keep count

Woking turned up to the Fortress hoping to get much needed points against Eastbourne.
The game started at a quick pace with both teams making multiple entries into the D. With veteran Pike having the best chance when an attempted lob sadly missed the target.
But Woking fortunes changed when Ex-Woking player Harrison Hubbard drew a foul in the circle and was awarded a penalty stroke. On the back of this Lewis W.Ankers decided to be a pleb and mouth off the the umpire, this was the first of many cards for Woking in a firey encounter. With Woking now 1-0 down they worked hard with constant turnover being won by Tom McLean and Matt Cockerham both being tenacious in midfield, and with Jimmy Furness unleashing his pace and had multiple shots at goal but was unable to beat the keeper.
However Woking’s best chance of the half, no the game! Came when the ball was won high up the pitch, with Andrew Pike coming away with it. 3vs2 the odds in Wokings favour, Pike decided to shock the whole of goldsworth by passing! This was his first mistake as Robbie Faulkner isn’t known for his finishing and this showed as the keeper saved the first shot, but recovered the ball and had the goal at his mercy but bottled it. The ball fell to Pike but he also couldn’t convert. This could have changed Wokings fortunes but it gave us hope.
This hope took a hit when Will Manwaring dove like a whale to make a tackle but took the player out in the process, resulting in the first of 3 yellows for Woking.
The Second half began with Woking down to 10, it would be like this for long periods of this half. As once Will returned from the sin bin, Feisty Furness decided to replace him. Woking legs were getting tired as they looked to get back into the game, but Eastbourne soon took advantage of sloppy play and made in 2-0.
Woking made it harder for themselves once more as Moley followed Lewis’ example and mouthed off the the umpire which earnt him his second yellow which saw him spending the rest of the game in the sin bin.
Woking has late chances but there was no way past the Eastbourne keeper and the game finished 2-0.

Ultimately the loss can be blamed on Kai who decided to drink half a pint of lager before the game... that’s not even something Barticorn would do!

Dod - Half pint Kai
