After a 17 man squad for last week's unofficial pre-season opener, we had a smaller squad for this one against what was to be a very decent opposition in Ash United.

After an even start Ash began to take control and went ahead midway through the first half.

We levelled a few minutes before the interval after great link up play between Zammo and Jay that saw the former through on goal and Zam rattled home confidently. 3 in 2 for Zammo who is looking very sharp.

In the second half we defended pretty well and were more of a threat going forward. We went ahead on the hour mark as Grouty flicked home Wicksy's throw in.

New boy Carter got his 2nd in as many games to make it 3-1. After he beat the keeper to a ball over the top he calmly clipped it over the stopper as he retreated back to his net.

Ash got one back late on as a free kick that hit the post was tapped in on the rebound.

A good outing with some positive individual performances and valuable minutes under the belt.
