The so called 'relegation 6 pointer' was emphatically won by 'the boys' as Anton nets hat-trick in 0-4 romp.

The game was filmed so this will be a short and sweet report.

We controlled the game for large periods and the only real threat to our goal was of our own doing.

The opening goal came after 12 mins as Rory's long ball found Anton who leapt above the keeper to head home. The keeper bottled it.

Chances came and went in the first half, but we kept Mayford relatively quiet, Matt making one half decent save from a long ranger.

Into the 2nd half and we needed to be patient. The 2nd goal didn't take long to arrive as Ror again supplied Anton and again Ant managed to soar above the flapping keeper to head a brace. The keeper bottled it. Again...

Some fantastic work by Strongy down the left set Anton up again and this time he curled home right footed from 15 yards. A neat finish to secure his 2nd hat-trick of the season.

The 4th was a bit of a 'worldy' I suppose. Well Ski will certainly claim it to be. Having produced some of the worst shooting ever seen earlier in the match, he latched into N-Rog's through ball, nutmegged the defender down the left hand side, cut inside and dispatched a splendid finish into the far corner for a goal of the season contender. Caught on video - we will not hear the end of this.

Matt did make one excellent save at the other end as a Richardy error allowed them a one on one when we were 0-2 up, and they also hit the post at 0-3, but we managed to secure the miracle that is a clean sheet. The holy grail for us and it only took 20 games this season. Well done the defence - overdue, but deserved.

So that's 15 points from 18 available in the new year. We have produced title winning form just when we needed it the most and are now in a great position to stay in Division 2.

Still a bit more work to do though.

MOM - Anton - besides the hat-trick he worked very hard throughout.

Triffic - THAT Ski goal.

Poor - Ski's woeful left footed shot in the second half when clean through.

Thanks to Ben for running the line and redeeming himself after last week. All is now forgotten. Also thanks to Gerry for coming down and apologies for not getting you on.
