Reds extend unbeaten run in the League to 13 matches as promising start to life in Division 1 continues.

Our second match at the top tier of the SHBL saw us face familiar foes in JB Rangers who we beat 1-3 last season in the Invitation Cup on our way to the semi-final.

Once again we emerged victorious, but had to show a side to our game that we sometimes struggle to find as a 'physical' JB outfit made us battle for the victory we deserved.

We started brightly and took the lead inside 5 minutes. Tom Davis throw in was flicked on by Toby Maher and skipper Oli Cochrane marked his first appearance of the season with a goal as he continued his goalscoring form from last campaign.

Odgie made it 0-2 with barely 15 minutes gone as he found the net with a superb volley.

Around the half hour mark we lost Tobes to injury and he was replaced by Zam. Fingers crossed Tobes' injury is not as bad as last season's.

Zam didn't take long to make an impact as he headed home Oli's cross following a terrific move from the back and at half-time the game looked over at 0-3.

JB pulled one back early in the second half, but we remained focussed and extended our lead again midway through the half as Odg diverted Joey Stevens' corner past the keeper.

It was 1-5 with 15 minutes to go as Zam's shot that Wils called the weakest he had ever seen was deflected home. The dubious goals panel says the jury is out on this one at the moment, but for now it has gone down as an own goal.

In the last 10 minutes we did wobble slightly and allowed JB to net twice and make the scoreline a little flattering at 3-5.

It was a shame we conceded two late goals, but this was the type of game that we might normally struggle to stay resilient in so it goes down as a fine win.

10 goals in our first two Division 1 games, 6 points and 2nd in the table. We couldn't ask for much moire than that given the fact we are normally notoriously slow starters.

MoM - Charlie - excellent display, but there were several players who had fine games on the day.
