Our best ever season ends with Golden Jubilee Cup exit.

Ultimately our season can be seen in two distinctive sections. The first being the League where we put together a Club Record win streak to wrap up the title by the end of February. From there we have had only cup games and unfortunately, barring a couple of good spells, we just haven't been able to replicate our league form by and large.

Having conceded only 15 goals in 15 League outings, in the 5 cup games since we have also shipped 15 goals. It would seem we just haven't been able to apply the focus. Nor have we been able to get our strongest squads out for whatever reason.

There is no point in going into detail about this morning's game, but with a stretched squad we played pretty well for an hour or so, defending as we did in the League and were keeping a strong Worplesdon side at bay comfortably enough. Then we conceded the equaliser and from there on in we couldn't respond and Worplesdon ran out deserved winners. No complaints at the result and they really ought to go on and win the Cup.

Our goals were scored by Jay Mal early on and Alex Zammit who had the last word on our season as he headed home from Sam Lant's throw.

This has been a long, but rewarding season for the club. It has ended a couple of weeks earlier than we would have liked, but having won the big one we can be really proud of what we have achieved. The Cups are still there to be won and we will be back again next season for another attempt.

We now have a month away from the club where we can take a well earned rest before celebrating our League title in early June.

On behalf of the board, thank you to all of the squad for your outstanding efforts for the past 9 months or so. Thank you to the players who brought down some new faces who have helped turn what looked like being a tough season back in September into our best by a country mile. Last but not least thank you to Matt for his continued dedication as Manager - few deserve to lift a trophy more.

See you all on June 2nd. #CHAMPIONS

Thanks to Albi and Lorry for running the line and to those who came down to support whilst injured.
