WWFC back to winning ways in the league.

After 3 straight league defeats and 3 sub par performances we faced up to Milford Green in the reverse fixture of the 3-3 draw on the opening day.

It was clear it wasn't going to be easy to play attractive football on what was a difficult pitch so it was as important to play the conditions and this was something we did well throughout.

Despite this we did go behind inside 15 minutes to a sloppy goal from our point of view, but Milford had been lively going forward and probably merited their lead.

On 25 we were level and it was a stunner. Grouty held the ball up on the left midway in their half, turned inside and found Sam who got himself a yard of space before firing an unstoppable thunderb*stard into the top corner past the despairing dive of the keeper.

Sam nearly made it 2-1 when he hit the underside of the bar, whilst Milford had a couple of half chances as we dug in until half-time.

The second half was in my opinion our most complete half of football this season. It was the sort of performance that this club has built it's success on in recent seasons and for a new look team it was impressive.

Defensively we gave them next to nothing all half with their best effort coming from a well struck overhead kick that went just wide.

Attacking wise we clicked into gear and began to stretch their backline. 8 minutes into the second half we forced a defensive error that Sam latched onto before rounding the keeper and tapping home to send us in front.

10 minutes later we extended our lead after Luca had caused havoc in their area despite failing to get his shot off the ball came to Sean who capped off a solid first start with a good cross that Grouty did brilliantly to head into the far corner for his 3rd of the season.

A couple of minutes later it was game as Sean and Jack started things from the back, setting Sam free down the right and he sent over a great cross that found left wing back Chaz who headed home from 5 yards to finish off a fine move.

Milford certainly didn't give up, but defensively we didn't really put a foot wrong as we saw out the game. A performance to build upon.

MoM: Sam - superb goal to level the game and caused problems all morning. Big mention to Grouty who put in a big shift and to all of the defenders.

Big thanks to Rory and Charlie for running the line and to Carter for coming down to support.
