Firstly let me say that this was a disappointing way to lose a game. No two ways about it we should have had this wrapped up at half-time. In the end unusual individual errors in front of both goals cost us dearly.

Given the manner of the defeat it would be easy to focus on the negatives, but in this case I want to look elsewhere.

Considering the state England is in currently I would argue that the club is lucky to even be playing football and personally I am not able to, so I have to say that some of the football we played, especially in the first half, was a joy to watch. Hopefully you boys fortunate enough to play enjoyed the style of play we produced. If the score had been 6,7 or even 8-1 at the interval our opponents could have had no complaints. The gulf was that big so full credit to their keeper who turned in a MoM display.

We were running absolute rings around them with players taking the minimal amount of touches and moving the ball. Our defenders looked really comfortable in possession with excellent distribution into midfield where the quality of creativity was top draw and our attack were able to feast on that. It was brilliant at times. In the last two games we have shown we can be equally adept at quick counter attacking football and patient build up. Positive signs.

Even in the second half we continued to create chances and play some decent stuff, but we did allow the game to get out of our control. Ignoring the actions of one of their players, we do have to credit the remaining Epsom players for firstly staying in the game and then being clinical in front of goal as barring that penalty miss I think they scored with nearly every shot they had.

The Premier League is showing some crazy results this season and we were on the receiving end of one in Sunday League here. We should look at what we did well, take pride in it and move on to the next League game.
