A Very Unlucky Defeat

A tough result to take and a game undermined by what we will call a below par refereeing display. On another day we would have won this game, but circumstances conspired against us here.

A penalty won and scored by Luca gave us the lead before Uni levelled. We immediately went back in front when Zammo latched on to Grouty's through ball from kick off and scrambled home. A frankly ridiculous penalty decision saw Strollers level just before half-time and then the referee compounded this by sending Josh off at half-time.

Uni went 4-2 up early in the second, but a banger from Zammo and a rifle from Ell (Luca's fine assist) got our 10 men level. Unfortunately our lack of keeping options after Josh's ludicrous red saw us fall to a late 5-4 defeat we definitely didn't deserve. Even after that we kept going and Frosty hit the bar from range with Zammo narrowly missing a follow up.

A truly gallant effort that underlined the character we have show all season. First defeat in 11 league games was a great run.

MoM: Zammo - hard working display and the second goal was class. Good performances all over the pitch.
