Back on the road at Afc Bridgnorth!

Cassies travel to Bridgnorth tomorrow off the back of two successful home fixtures. Last Saturdays 6-0 win over Wem Town was swiftly followed up by another 6-0 win, this time over Dudley Sports. But it wasn’t the score line on Tuesday that impressed, it was the professionalism of the squad to get the job done. After such a high Saturday, it was drilled into the lads before kick off to show no complacency Tuesday. They responded perfectly & put on a real team performance. With only a starting 11 fully fit, it was always going to be a challenge. The bench was full of knocks which we didn’t want to further hamper. Luckily enough we came out unscathed & players got there much needed rest & treatment. With several outstanding performances throughout the team, it was Jamaine Turner who stole the headlines. He bagged a Hatrick in only his second start for Cassies. The young Shrewsbury academy starlet has really impressed since being at the club. The return of Reece Mason after suspension has been much welcomed. After a relatively low key first game, he really set it a light Tuesday & was back to his sublime best. So form is good going into Saturday.

BRIDGNORTH FORM:

Afc Bridgnorth form over the last four games has seen them pick up four points. Losses to Bewdley & Wednesfield early in the month were followed by a draw to Smethwick & a big three points away to out of form Darlaston last week. Anwar olugbon has scored 19 of Bridgnorth’s 30 goals this season making him the obvious threat. One we’ll need to keep tabs on. Earlier in the season the sides met at the Lane. 3rd played 4th that day with Cassies victorious 3-0. Bridgnorth currently occupy 13th in the league table.

WEBBY SETTLES QUICKLY:

Jake Webb joined the club little under a month ago from Tividale FC. People who know Webby from his Afc wulfrunians days know he’s got an eye for goal. In four appearances he’s bagged himself three goals & a couple of assists. He’s added experience & a certain cleverness to our frontline. His work ethic & game understanding are second to none. Safe to say he’ll Keep improving this season & were excited for what that brings. Well done Webby!!

PINDER & FEDOTOVS SIGN ON:

This week the Gaffa has worked hard to add to our squad. With only a small unit to work from, it was timely both Matt & Emils came into Cassies. Matt Pinder has been scoring goals at this level for sometime. In 18/19 season he bagged 16 goals in 20 apps for Pershore Town. so far this season he’s helped himself to 7 goals in 6 starts & 8 Sub appearances. A new challenge is what Matt seeked & he’s raring to go in green! He’ll add physicality, power & goals to our frontline. Welcome Matt. Emils alike had a very good goal scoring record last year at Dudley Town. In 19 appearances he notched 12 goals. One of them Cassies remember well. A beauty against us in a 3-1 defeat. This season has been different for Emils. With only 3 starts Thus far for Lye Town, it was time for change. He managed two goals in his short stay there. Emils showed us full hand what he’s capable of last season & we’re hoping we can get that out of him & more. Walking into a positive environment after the struggles early on we’re confident he’ll find that form quickly! Welcome Emils.

The game is scheduled for a 3pm KO at Crown Meadow. Please check our twitter page for all your updates Throughout the game.
