Firstly I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year under the current circumstances.
When I last wrote to you all in November we had just entered a month long lockdown which was then swiftly followed by Tier 4 restrictions for the Club and most of its members. We had a very short window of rugby activity, albeit only training in December and we now find ourselves once again in a situation of lockdown where rugby must stop for certainly the next month or so.
The Committee fully back any measures required to get us all back to a level of normality whilst ensuring the safety of all Club members. We shall continue to follow all Government and RFU guidelines and as soon as this changes we will let you know how this impacts the club.
On the financial front we remain in a stable position thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and a big thank you also to our members who have paid their membership and continue to support their club in these difficult times. I must however stress that we cannot remain financially stable indefinitely and as with all other amateur rugby clubs need to get back to playing the game as soon as possible.
Lastly, as our commitment to our young players welfare remains paramount, I am looking for a new volunteer to support Liz and Maya who look after our child safeguarding requirements which includes DBS checks, tour approvals and safeguarding audits. If you are able to volunteer a few hours a week in an administrative capacity please contact me directly.
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.
