Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, mud, rain, cold, rain, rain and more rain, these are some of the words that immediately spring to mind about our expedition to Colchester..or should I say the Arctic Circle!!!
After a drive fraught with danger, and a tent set up fraught with dampness and gale force winds our brave, heroic and hardy lads took to the field, unperturbed by the awful conditions.

GAME 1
Woodford Warriors 0 v Colchester Animals 5(25)
A very difficult start for the Warriors who were caught cold by a Colchester side who had apparently been warming up for an hour before our arrival. One incident to report was a phantom try for Nathan Morris who mistook the half way line for the try line!! Actually the score was a bit flattering to Colchester but the win was deserved as our boys struggled to contain a much larger physical side who played some good rugby in both the scrum and free play, yet our boys put up a brave fight to stem the tide.
GAME 2
Woodford Wolves 4(20) v Colchester Bears 2(10)
An entirely different start for the Wolves with a awesome performance against their Colchester counterparts, a well deserved victory was had after controlling most of the game with some staunch defence when needed and some flowing free play with trys coming from Nathan McCutcheon on his first game back from injury, Jack Brynes and a double for Barney Hurd.
GAME 3
Woodford Warriors 0 v Colchester Bears 2(10)
A much closer contest this time for the Warriors who can count themselves unlucky to end this game without at least a share of the spoils, again a spirited fight was put up in awful conditions and just looking at the mud covered boys as they left the field told you just how much effort they had put into this match.
GAME 4
Woodford Wolves 4(20) v Colchester Animals 4(20)
Another sparkling performance from the Wolves, pumped up from their previous victory they continued in the same form and trys from Nathan McCutcheon, Barney Hurd, Jack Brynes and Domingo Lapadula looked to have assured victory but for a late equaliser from Colchester. What a great performance from the Wolves team, to go to Colchester, who are on of the better sides we are likely to face this season and come away with a win and a draw, well done boys.
