Another great performance by the lads as we ran out comfortable winners against our local rivals Chingford.
The day did not start promisingly as one of our supposed opponents Rochford did not turn up, fortunately Chingford were on hand so we did not have another week without any rugby.
To be fair right from the first whistle Woodford were in control, going up by three tries, one coming from a devastating turn of speed from Ben Acons which was cooly converted by Matt Unwin, and a double from our ever dependable & brilliant Henri Hobbs, who had decided he wanted to play for Woodford more than Essex this weekend, and his loyalty was surely rewarded as he run the show from his No 8 position. In fact it could, and should have been more as we were held up at the line twice by the Chingford boys. Chingford did add a try of their own during this half and narrowly missed the conversion as old Woodford boy Barney just missed the posts from a difficult angle.
Second half carried on pretty much where the first half ended, Woodford comfortably in command, we now had Vincent Novotny back in our pack from being on loan to Chingford in the first half, he immediately marked his return to the fold with a try, another was added by Domingo Lapadula, who had an immense impact on the entire game with some rock solid tackling, excellent passing and control in the centre of the pitch, and not forgetting some brilliant offensive running which was rewarded with a try of his own which is why he has deservedly been awarded Man of the Match, both tries were converted by Nathan Morris.
Many notable performances from many players, also a big thanks to the boys who played for Chingford on the day.
Onwards and upwards boys, we have a very important league game coming up this weekend against Braintree, so let's try to carry this winning streak on a bit further.
