Worcester Colts 54--24 Wolverhampton

Worcester RFC Colts put their opening day disappointment behind them to overcome a feisty Wolverhampton team at Calcroft Road with a second half try surge.

Wolves opened the scoring after a clever kick through by their enterprising fly half.

Finn O'Toole finished off a good team move to give Worcester their first try converted by Ben Llewellyn to level . Skipper Will Matthews added a second after some rampaging forward play. The first half finished 12-14 .

WRFC came out for the second half firing on all cylinders and scored quick fire tries from Will Blackmore after quick thinking at the base of a ruck 10 metres out followed by Alfie Bayley finishing off a scorching run through the home defence .

After another try from flanker O'Toole , Wolves responded well with two well worked and converted tries but Centre JJ Hunt made a big impression with strong runs from midfield which cut through the home defence which saw him score twice 54-24 winners. Fly Half Llewellyn's consistency off the tee saw him add 7 conversions to his own late try.

Team Manager Adrian Bullett was happy with the overall performance of his charges
" This was a good game played in the right spirit. Wolverhampton made It a little difficult in a very tight first half but the group worked the issues out. We stepped up the pace, got the ball out wide quickly in the second half and got the scores our play deserved"
