Final practice
Reds play their ninth and final pre-season game at Lancaster City on Saturday, the sixth summer in succession they have played at the Giant Axe.
Whilst the management probably know their starting XI for the opening league fixture next week, supporters (and players) are speculating on who will get the nod.
Who will play in goal, what about the central defence, central midfield and who will be up front are some of the questions still to be answered.
Reds have experienced a mixed pre-season, results wise, but the games have served their purpose with everyone fit and raring to go. This will be the last opportunity for the players to press their claims, with just two training sessions next week ahead of the Sutton Coldfield Town fixture.
City have beaten Penrith and AFC Darwen in their pre-season programme but lost at home to Barrow (1-5) and were losing to Blackpool when the match was abandoned following a pitch invasion by the Tangerine ‘protesters’.
The First Division North outfit have recorded victory in each of the last three years with Reds winning the two encounters prior to that.
Kick-off 3pm.
