Wotton hosted St Bernadettes on Saturday with conditions perfect for running rugby. Straight from the start Sam Chappell magnificently collected Gareth Davies pinpoint kick off before being halted just short of the line, from the resulting breakdown Olli Boyle forced his way over the line. Steve Black added the extras. It was evident it was going to be a long day for Bernadettes when Joe Horton danced his way through the defence to score. Luke Carnaby and Alex Irons added tries,with Black adding 2 conversions and a penalty before St Benadettes added a score of their own. Horton then added his second after a great team move in which Wotton showed great hands to run the length of the field.
The second half was one way traffic George Barnes, Tom Gibbs and Rob Marlow all running riot with the ball in hand. It was only a matter of time before Wotton scored again and it was Boris Bennett who showed great pace to score. Ed Wickenden then put forward his entry for try of the season, effortlessly gliding through a number of would be tacklers to score a superb individual try. The impressive Carnaby, Irons, Wickenden and Boyle all added their 2nd tries before captain fantastic Horton completed yet another treble. Rodrigo Allison scored a fine individual try to round off a superb team performance.
