WANDERERS TAKE THE BRAGGING RIGHTS
The U18s played Park Avenue at Horsfall but there were no sendings off for lads peeing in the bushes.
It was a poor pitch which made a passing game difficult & we were thankful to Harry Graham for stopping Park Ave taking the lead on a couple of occasions. Eventually our quality showed & we took control of the game with goals from Ryan, Callum & a couple from Louis Sterling one of them being an assist from Harry
4-0 at half time.
Playing up the hill in the second half allowed us to play better football.
We were dominating play & goals from Luke Stewart, another from Callum & another 2 from Louis & 1 from Waqas Iqbal before Park Ave got a consolation.
We had looked solid at the back in the second half & a special mention to Luke Meadows playing all the game with a bad back but still making tackles & knocking people about.
Then the best goal of the game. Waqas picking the ball up just inside our opponents half. He beat a couple of players & raced towards the box, he breezed past another couple of players in the box before rounding the keeper & placing the ball into the far corner.
10-1 at full time.
