Louis Bags Hat Trick

The U18s were back in league action with the visit of Cumberworth.
The league let us down with a ref so thanks go out to Michael the Cumberworth coach for an excellent job reffing.
As usual we started a bit slack & it took us 10 minutes to get going. The only threat to us was our sloppiness on the ball.
When we got our game together we put our opponents under pressure. The first goal came when Ben Sutcliffe picked the ball up on the half way line, he beat 3 or 4 players before being brought down in the box.
Waqas Iqbal stepped up & slotted home the spot kick.
The 2nd goal was a brilliant piece of individual skill. Waqas played the ball in to Louis Sterling on the edge of the box. Louis flicked the ball up over his head & the head of the defender spun round & volleyed into the roof of the net.
We had further chances but went in at half time 2-0 up.
3 changes for the 2nd half but the lads continued in the same vein.
Waqas played a through ball to Louis Sterling & he slotted past the keeper for the 3rd. Oliver Priestley Standing was then brought down in the box. He grabbed the ball & put the spot kick wide of the keeper for 4-0.
We had a chance to increase the lead but this time missed the spot kick.
The fifth goal saw Louis complete his hat trick. A ball over the top & Louis outpaced the defence & passed the ball into the far corner.
5-0 at full time.
